A 23-year-old Hicksville woman was killed when a firearm discharged while she was examining it with two other people inside a town house in Westchester County, police said.

Police yesterday identified the woman as Megan Bookstaver.

Officers went to the Tarrytown building at 4:21 p.m. Monday after receiving a 911 call that someone had been shot. Police say a bullet struck Bookstaver in the head in a fourth-floor bedroom.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. The town house is on Main Street on the Hudson River.

Police have labeled the death suspicious but have made no arrests.
