Megan Ekstrom, March Nassau County Scholar Artist - 2012

Megan Ekstrom, a senior at Oceanside High School, is an enthusiastic and gifted photographer. Her dedication has taken her through photo I, II, III, and AP photo courses. Megan’s passion for photography is evident in the many awards she has won from contests sponsored by the Long Island Media Arts Fair and Nikon. Her unique approach results in classic, timeless, and detail-oriented photographs. Active in academia, Megan is on the honor roll and holds membership in the National Honor Society. Her interests and projects related to science research have garnered her high placement in several school science fairs and the Intel Science program. When she’s not taking pictures or studying, you can find her catching a movie with friends or volunteering with her church. Megan hopes that photography will always be a part of her life, no matter where her future takes her.
