Meghan Hassett, June 2011-Scholar Artist

Meghan Hassett is a talented singer and violinist, with a passion for life.

She is a dedicated student who excelled in nine Advanced Placement courses, achieving the distinction of “AP Scholar with Honor”. Throughout her career at Farmingdale High School, Meghan participated in the chorus, orchestra, select vocal jazz ensemble and chamber orchestra.

Since 2008, Meghan has attended the New York State Summer School of the Arts, participating in the schools of Orchestral Studies and Choral Studies. She has performed with the NYSSMA All-State Mixed Chorus and All-State Vocal Jazz, as well as the Nassau County All-County Vocal Jazz. She is a prominent member of Farmingdale High School’s drama program, participating in the cast, crew and pit orchestra.

Outside of her artistic endeavors, Meghan is Treasurer of Tri-M Honor Society, and a member of Key Club, National Honor Society and Girl Scouts. She loves the challenges and personal connections music offers and hopes to continue these in her college years as a voice major.
