Memorial golf tournament rescheduled
The third annual Keith R. Cerrato Caddie Golf Tournament has been rescheduled for Aug. 29 at Cherry Valley Club in Garden City.
The tournament, open to caddies from the metropolitan area, was originally scheduled for Aug. 15 and was postponed due to inclement weather.
The tournament pays tribute to Cerrato, 24, who died when he was struck by a car as he crossed Hempstead Turnpike in December 2006. Cerrato of Garden City was a caddie at Cherry Valley for more than 10 years and also worked in the bag room and on the course.
Net proceeds will go to the Keith Cerrato Charitable Fund Inc., which pays for two scholarships for underprivileged students at Hofstra University and Chaminade High School, both of which Cerrato attended.
