A Suffolk County police officer and the driver of a passenger vehicle both had minor injuries from a collision Sunday evening in Hauppauge, police said.

Police said the female officer, whose identity was not released, was turning left from Route 347, Veterans Memorial Highway, onto Simeon Woods Road at 6:47 p.m. when her patrol car was struck by a 2008 Toyota Rav4 driven by Song Yang, 33, of Henry Street in Manhattan.

Police said the officer had a green turn arrow at the time - giving her the right of way.

Both the officer and Yang were taken to hospitals where each was treated and released. No citations were issued, police said.
