Kudos to President Barack Obama, who made an exceptional speech in Tucson ["Obama urges nation to heal," News, Jan. 13]. No Blaming Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Fox News, etc.
And as facts continue to surface, more and more, we see that it could be the fault of our tolerant system that did not take the shooter seriously while all the hints of a troubled individual were in evidence. There should not have been any blaming of Republicans or conservatives for a lone lunatic's actions.
In his speech, the president preached unity very clearly for all of us to understand. Conservatives and liberals, Democrats and Republicans. Let us rally behind President Obama's words of unity and put an end to all the bickering.

Watching President Obama's speech made me suspicious of his sincerity. I can't help believing that if a political figure was not included in this tragedy, you would have not seen the president on television at 9 p.m.
People die horribly at the hands of psychopaths every day. Why does it become more urgent to find the right prevention because a House representative took a bullet? It sounds like self-serving politics to me.
