Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano and Trainville Hobby Depot will host a model train show on Saturday, April 27 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, April 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale. The Complex is located at 1 Charles Lindbergh Blvd.

This year’s model train show includes door prizes, a genuine piece of LIRR track as a “touch exhibit” and an information table for future model train and hobby events. Ticket proceeds will go to the Nassau Hurricane Recovery Fund to benefit uninsured and underinsured residents who suffered damage from superstorm Sandy.

“Residents are invited to help support their neighbors who are struggling to rebuild, while enjoying exhibitors and Train Clubs,” Mangano said in a statement.

Admission to the train show is $5 for adults and $3 for children 4-to-11 years of age.
Additional donations are accepted. For more information, call Trainville Hobby Depot at 516-433-4444, or visit its website at www.trainville.com.
