The Town of Babylon has hired several more consultants for its Wyandanch Rising downtown redevelopment.

Sidney B. Bowne & Sons Llp in Mineola was hired for work related to a planned “intermodal” facility. The town board last week approved a contract for $55,000 for engineering services related to the transit facility the town wants to build near the Long Island Rail Road station. The facility will have a six-story parking structure and serve as a hub for auto, bus and bike commuters.

The town also approved two contracts related to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification for downtown Wyandanch redevelopment. AECOM Design and Planning in Atlanta was hired for $6,010 and AKRF Inc. in Bohemia, for $7,500.

In addition, the town has hired LJM RAD Llc in Albany for $50,000 to assist the town in obtaining various grants in connection with the redevelopment.
