After this record-setting blizzard, Long Island can surely handle the new snow that is forecast for this week, beginning early Wednesday.

The National Weather Service predicts the region will see more snow beginning Wednesday, mainly after 4 a.m., with new accumulations of less than one inch.

The snow will continue before mixing with rain after 10 a.m. before gradually ending and giving way to mostly sunny skies with highs near 40 degrees, forecasters said.

Another round of snow is possible on Thursday before 1 p.m., followed by cloudy skies that could bring more snow Thursday night. Accumulations are minimal, the weather service said.

Friday and the weekend bring hope of sunny skies and warming temperatures, the NWS reported.
