Morning Blotter: Pedestrian struck 3 times, killed
*An unidentified pedestrian was struck and killed late Tuesday near an entrance to the Stony Brook University Medical Center property, Suffolk police said.
The victim was crossing the street near the intersection of Nicolls Road and South Drive at 9:05 p.m., and was struck by at least two, and possibly three vehicles, police said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. -- JOHN VALENTI
*First Precinct detectives are searching for three women who stole $1,700 worth of calculators from an East Farmingdale store in January, Suffolk County police said. -- GARY DYMSKI
Police said the three women lifted the Texas Instrument calculators from the Target at 100 Willow Park Dr. at about 8 p.m. on Jan. 22.
*A 26-year-old Uniondale man who performed unauthorized online bank transfers to steal more than $180,000 from other accounts was arrested Tuesday and charged with identity theft, grand larceny and fraud, police said. -- JOHN VALENTI
*A Hempstead Fire Department truck collided with civilian traffic Tuesday night while responding to a fire, Hempstead police said. Seven people, including two fire fighters, were transported to area hospitals for treatment of minor injuries, police said. --BILL MASON
