Mostly sunny, some clouds this week

Long Islanders can expect mostly sunny skies Monday and for the next couple of days.

Temperatures will be in the upper 60s Monday, with light winds.

Temperatures are forecast to remain seasonable throughout the week, ranging from the mid- to upper-60s, with the next chance of rain not until Friday.

This day in weather history:

1977: A late season snowstorm hit parts of the northeast including New York. Heavier snowfall totals included 27 inches in Slide Mountain, N.Y. and 20 inches in Norwalk, Conn. For Boston, it was the first May snow in 107 years. The heavy wet snow caused extensive damage to trees and power lines and left about 500,000 people without power.
