A public hearing scheduled for Tuesday concerning the proposed Mount Sinai Village Centre has been postponed, according to an e-mail that Brookhaven Town Councilwoman Jane Bonner sent to her Second District constituents on Friday.
A new date has yet to be scheduled for a public hearing. But Bonner said in the e-mail that “the developer has indicated their intention to make additional modifications to their proposal to more closely reflect public comment and input, and to further minimize its impacts to its immediate neighbors and the greater community.”
Soundview Realty developer Paul Elliott has proposed a village square-type outdoor mall along Route 25A, centered by a clock tower, giving the spread a New England-style look. A zoning change is required for the project to break ground.
In the e-mail Bonner solicited ideas and comments about the project. Her office number is 631-451-6964, and her e-mail is councilwomanbonner@brookhaven.org.
