Movie buzz: 'Street Games,' mind readers

THE MOVIE "New York Street Games"

THE DEAL This documentary, which covers everything from hopscotch to Johnny on a pony, features interviews with Ray Romano, Regis Philbin and former Surgeon General C. Everett Koop. There are also contributions from two Long Islanders. One is Arthur Leipzig, a Sea Cliff resident who photographed and filmed kids playing street games during the 1940s and '50s. The other is Bert Brodsky, a Port Washington businessman who credits the games of his Bronx childhood with his grown-up success. WHO The Amazing Kreskin

THE MOVIE "The Great Buck Howard"

THE DEAL The legendary mentalist will be on hand for a screening of this comedy-drama inspired by his quirky career. John Malkovich plays the title role; the father-son team of Tom and Colin Hanks also star. Kreskin will sign copies of his book "Kreskin Confidential: The World's Greatest Mentalist Speaks Out."

THE EVENT Hamptons International Film Festival

THE DEAL In what's becoming a tradition, the 18th annual installment of this low-key but ambitious festival will take place over Columbus Day weekend, Oct. 7-11. Until last year, the festival was typically held later in the month, but organizers found that the holiday weekend made the event more attractive to moviegoers and out-of-town celebrities. A schedule of films has not yet been announced.
