N. Hempstead to weigh senior housing plan
The North Hempstead Town Council on Jan. 25 will consider an application from Harbor Homes Llp to build a 48-unit senior housing complex on 1.5 acres of land in Port Washington.
Called Harbor View apartments, the complex would have underground parking, a fitness center, lending library and social room. I
t’s designed for residents aged 55 and older who make between 50 and 60 percent of the area’s median income, which is $103,000, said Sean T. Rainey, executive director of the North Hempstead Housing Authority.
