Six Nassau County women who own businesses were honored Tuesday in celebration of Women’s History Month.

“You all are an inspiration to women everywhere,” County Executive Edward P. Mangano said at a Women's History Month Celebration in Mineola. “You have proven through hard-work and dedication that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to …and greatly contribute to our local economy.”

The honorees, many of whom successfully started their own businesses and also do the manufacturing in Nassau, were Susan Axelrod of Love and Quiches Desserts in Freeport; Noreen Carro of LMN Printing Co. in Valley Stream; Dilcia Granville, of Dip & See, LLC in Elmont; Vicki Mate of The Crispery in Roslyn; Stacey Rose of Cartridge World in Mineola and Garden City; and Roberta Perry of Scrubz Body Scrub, Inc. in Bethpage.
