Johndee Baptiste caught a 15-yard touchdown from Corey Goldglit with six minutes remaining to break a tie at 14 and lead Friends Academy (5-3) in its 20-14 win over Mineola in Nassau IV football Saturday. Jalijah Daniels' interception ended Mineola's final drive inside the Friends Academy's 5-yard line. Trayvon Alexander caught two touchdown passes for 86 total yards and Goldglit completed 7 of 13 passes for 144 yards and three TDs.
Locust Valley 41, East Rockaway 7: John Pedranghelu ran for 157 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries to lead Locust Valley (8-0). Tom Talenti added 79 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries, and Nick Petralia had a 10-yard touchdown run, an interception, and was 5-for-5 on extra points. East Rockaway's James Tierney opened the scoring in the first quarter before Locust Valley scored three rushing touchdowns to take a 21-7 lead into halftime.
Valley Stream South 28, Oyster Bay 14: Johnny Reyes ran for 112 yards on 13 carries and Nick Hernandez added 80 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries to lead Valley Stream South (3-5). Shane DeFreitis added 81 yards on eight carries. Hernandez had touchdown runs of 31, 6, and 17 yards in the first quarter to put Valley Stream South ahead 21-0. Seaford 48, Island Trees 6: Danny Roell rushed for 202 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries to lead Seaford (7-1). Nick Couvaris rushed for 197 yards on nine carries, Jack Lasher had 10 tackles and an interception, and Kevin Digney had 10 tackles and a sack for Seaford.
Clarke 50, Roslyn 20: Aaron Dawson ran for 250 yards and four touchdowns on 11 carries to lead Clarke (6-2). Roslyn led 20-14 with 10:20 left in the second quarter before Dawson scored on touchdown runs of 8, 78 and 53 yards in the second and third quarters.
Carle Place/Wheatley 48, Great Neck South 14: Chris Vasquez's 25-yard interception return for a touchdown gave Carle Place/Wheatley a 14-0 lead during a 28-point first quarter. Matt Biscardi rushed for 78 yards and two touchdowns on five carries for Carle Place/Wheatley (5-3).
West Hempstead 48, Malverne 14: Noel Beaubrun rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries and he had an interception to lead West Hempstead (5-3). The Rams led 42-6 after three quarters. Tommy Cannisi had 110 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries for West Hempstead.
Cold Spring Harbor 27, Great Neck North 7: Ed Fox caught a 12-yard touchdown from Jack Diaz with 30 seconds remaining in the second quarter to break a tie at 7 and lead Cold Spring Harbor (2-6).
