Nassau police receive state grant for HOV patrols

Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano announced Monday that the county police department will receive a $915,000 state grant to help with its High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane patrols on the Long Island Expressway.
“We’ve all dealt with motorists who blatantly disregard the law by entering and exiting HOV lanes in unsafe places,” Mangano said in a statement. “These funds will help provide ongoing patrols of the HOV lanes .?.?.
