Nassau seeks auxiliary police
The Nassau County Auxiliary Police is looking for new officers. The auxiliary is seeking Nassau County residents between the ages of 18 and 55 to volunteer to patrol local areas. Officers travel in marked cars with a two-way radio and occasionally assist the Nassau County Police Department with crowd and traffic control.
An officer must be a U.S. citizen, have a high school diploma or GED and a valid New York State driver's license. A 29-session training program must be completed at the Nassau County Police Academy.
