Nassau to honor Portuguese community
The Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building is at 1550 Franklin Ave. in the village of Mineola. It is the seat of Nassau County government. Nassau County Comptroller George Maragos will honor the Nassau County Portuguese community Monday, 6-9 p.m., at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive & Legislative Building, 1550 Franklin Ave. in Mineola.
Guests will include State Sen. Jack Martins (R-Mineola) and Portugal’s Ambassador to the United States, Nuno Brito, as the keynote speaker. Community leaders will be honored.
The event will feature traditional Portuguese food, desserts, music and folklore dancing courtesy of Ranchos Juventude & Sonhos de Portugal.
