CHICAGO -- Two more activists were charged yesterday with crimes tied to the two-day NATO summit, accusing one of saying he wanted to blow up a downtown bridge and a second with seeking to build pipe bombs.

Attorneys for the two Chicago men said the charges were manufactured by police informants or undercover officers known as "Mo" and "Gloves," and accused authorities of trumping up a case to scare protesters in town for the summit.

Sebastian Senakiewicz, 24, was charged with falsely making a terrorist threat. Mark Neiweem, 28, was charged with attempted possession of explosives or incendiary devices. They were arrested Thursday.

Meanwhile, thousands of demonstrators marched through downtown Sunday, voicing discontent on a wide range of world issues. Moving east toward McCormick Place, some hurled sticks and bottles at police. Officers responded, swinging their batons. Some protesters were seen being led away in handcuffs. -- AP
