3 packages of lollipops prompt false alarm at county courts

Three packages containing lollipops and unspecified paperwork were responsible for a bomb squad being called to a northwestern Pennsylvania courthouse.

Ridgway police tell The Bradford Era (http://bit.ly/1dSnEcX ) the three packages were sent by a "disabled" woman who lacked "malicious intent" and will not be charged.

Elk County court administrator Martha Masson received the packages Wednesday and was alarmed because they were heavy and "one had a lumpiness to it."

The packages also didn't have return addresses and were mailed to a judge who police say not only doesn't exist in Elk County, he apparently doesn't exist anywhere in Pennsylvania.

Police went to the post office and interviewed clerks who described the woman, which enabled police to ask her about the packages.
