AUGUSTA, Maine — In a story published May 16, 2024, about an investigation of Maine’s deadliest shooting, The Associated Press erroneously quoted testimony from a sister-in-law of the gunman. Katie Card’s more complete quote was: “We will always blame ourselves. My husband will always blame himself, even though it shouldn’t be blamed on him. He will always blame himself. I will always ... I know in my head we shouldn't ... but we will always.”
