A New York man has been arrested in connection with a fatal accident in Louisiana nearly three months ago.
State police arrested 23-year-old Michael H. Demelio of Brooklyn Wednesday on a charge of vehicular homicide.
The accident happened at 2:10 a.m. on April 28, on La. Highway 46 in St. Bernard Parish near Violet.
Troopers say Demelio’s truck ran off the road and struck a tree.
Demelio’s passenger, 43-year-old John Ebanks Jr., of Garyville, La., suffered critical injuries and died two days later.
Demelio originally was arrested for DWI and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.
