WASHINGTON -- New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie agrees there's a possibility the topsy-turvy GOP presidential race will end in a contested party convention this summer if Mitt Romney loses Tuesday's Michigan primary.

Christie says he thinks Romney, whom he has endorsed, will beat Rick Santorum, and that would lessen chances of a convention fight.

But on CBS' "Face the Nation" Sunday Christie noted the race has had several different front-runners and probably will keep going up and down.

"We have to be patient and take a deep breath and let this process work its way out," he said.

The governor says he's not really interested in being a vice presidential candidate, but would listen if Romney asked because "I love my party enough and I love my country enough to listen." -- AP
