Clarification: COP28-Climate Summit-Five Promises story

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — In a story published Dec. 13, 2023, The Associated Press reported that the United States did not sign the Kyoto Protocol, an agreement that asked high-emitting countries around the world to cut emissions by a certain amount. The story should have clarified that the U.S. signed the document in 1998, but Congress did not ratify it.
