A New Jersey man caught at Boston’s airport allegedly with more than two kilograms of cocaine in several pairs of shoes has been ordered held on $300,000 bail.
Carlos Lanns of Hamilton, N.J., pleaded not guilty to drug charges at his arraignment Tuesday in East Boston District Court.
State police say Lanns, 24, was arrested just after 7 p.m. on Monday after arriving at Logan International Airport.
The cocaine was found in the soles of four pairs of shoes in his checked luggage.
Prosecutors say there were reports of someone on the plane with drugs, but did not say what led them to Lanns.
Authorities say the cocaine had a street value of more than $200,000.
Lanns’ lawyer said he has no record and intends to fight the charges.
