Facebook pages have been set up in tribute to a flight attendant who has landed in hot water.

Police say Steven Slater cursed at a passenger who accidentally hit  him on the head with luggage. They say Slater grabbed beer from the galley, then used an emergency exit slide to get off a JetBlue plane at Kennedy Airport in New York City on Monday.

He’s charged with criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and  trespassing.

Passenger Philip Catelinet talked about it Tuesday on NBC and CBS.

Catelinet says he saw Slater on an airport train afterward, smiling and looking happy and relieved.

The passenger says everybody fantasizes about “telling your boss to take this job and shove it.” But he’s not sure Slater thought it through all that well.
