Fifth victim identified in fatal RI fire
(AP) — The fifth person who died in a Rhode Island house fire has been identified by her family as 20-year-old Tayla Lackey of Glocester.
Lackey's aunt, Robbin Rendine (REN'-deen), says Sunday that Lackey was among the four adults and one baby pulled from the fire in Warwick on Saturday afternoon.
Also killed were 21-year-old Amanda Villeneuve and her 7-month-old daughter, Annabelle, who lived at the home, and 20-year-old Dan Janik and 24-year-old Nicholas Jillson.
Fire investigators say they won't know the cause of the fire until they test samples from the home. State Fire Marshal Jack Chartier says the fire appears to be accidental.
The fire is among the worst in Rhode Island since a 2003 nightclub fire in neighboring West Warwick killed 100 people.
