JACKSON, Ga. -- Andrew DeYoung, convicted of killing his parents and sister, was executed last evening after the courts allowed what was probably the nation's first video-recorded execution in almost two decades.

DeYoung, 37, who was put to death by lethal injection at the state prison in Jackson after his appeals were turned down, was pronounced dead at 8:04 p.m.

Other death penalty developments:

TEXAS: Mark Stroman, 41, was executed Wednesday for killing a Dallas-area convenience store clerk during a shooting spree he claimed was retaliation for the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. He was put to death at the Department of Criminal Justice Unit in Huntsville. Stroman claimed the shooting spree that killed two men and injured a third in late 2001 targeted people from the Middle East. All three victims were from South Asia.

OHIO: Gov. John Kasich postponed the execution of Brett Hartman Thursday from Aug. 16 until Nov. 13, 2012, Thursday in response to a judge's ruling questioning the state's execution practices. Hartman, 37, was sentenced to death for the 1997 killing of Winda Snipes in Akron.
