At least 13 City Council members plan to wear hoodies and carry Skittles and iced tea at a meeting at Wednesday's legislative session in support of slain Florida teen Trayvon Martin, whose death has touched a nerve with many New Yorkers and led to demonstrations against racial profiling.

Council members Melissa Mark-Viverito and Letitia James said they're organizing a hoodie movement and introducing a resolution as a "call to justice" for Martin, whose parents attended a congressional hearing in Washington Tuesday.

"It's a strong message that this is an appalling case and it speaks to the lack of justice," said Mark-Viverito (D-East Harlem).

For New Yorkers, she added, the case is a reminder of past racially tinged shootings in the city and the need for continued discussions about gun laws and profiling.

Martin, 17, was fatally shot on Feb. 26 after visiting a convenience store and passing through a gated community in Sanford, Fla., patrolled by neighborhood watch member George Zimmerman.

Zimmerman, 28, identified as a white Hispanic, said he mistook Martin for a burglar.

He told police that Martin attacked him first and that he shot the teen in self-defense.
