Thousands of Occupy Wall Street demonstrators across the country took to the streets Thursday to mark two months since the movement's birth Sept. 17.

Demonstrations blocked traffic in Los Angeles, Washington, Hartford, Philadelphia, Dallas, St. Louis, Las Vegas and Portland, Ore., leading to arrests in many of the cities.

Several hundred protesters who joined the Occupy Albany demonstration took their grievances inside the state Capitol Thursday. Activists chanted and presented documents to Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo's office and the Senate Republican majority urging them to extend the state millionaires' tax.

In Washington, police stood guard as Occupy D.C. protesters staged a demonstration along the Key Bridge connecting Georgetown with Northern Virginia.
