ASUNCIÓN, Paraguay — In a story published Sep. 9, 2024, about the historically low water levels on the Paraguay River, The Associated Press erroneously reported that a drought in Brazil’s Amazon rainforest caused the drying up of the river. A drought in Brazil’s Pantanal region caused it.
