(AP) — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says Congress must pass a health care overhaul, no matter how long it takes.

Pelosi told reporters Thursday that President Barack Obama gave the stalled process a boost in his State of the Union speech. She said he reminded the nation of the serious problems that won't go away without a substantial remake of health care laws.

Pelosi says lawmakers "must take whatever time it takes to do it."

She did not specify how the House and Senate can work out their differences, but she said Democratic lawmakers will work on many fronts.
