Rep. Peter King (R-Seaford) has hit another bump in his maybe, maybe not road to the White House.

The Value Voters Summit, billing itself as "the premier conservative event of 2013," will hold its annual meeting in Washington from Oct. 11 to 13. The gathering is best known for its presidential straw poll, to be held again this year. Among Republicans invited to speak -- and pose for the voters -- are such presidential hopefuls as Gov. Bobby Jindal, Sens. Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and Marco Rubio, and ex-Sen. Rick Santorum.

But a Value Voters Summit spokesman confirmed the group did not invite King, but didn't say why. At least King has company: Gov. Chris Christie did not appear on the list of invited speakers either.-- Tom Brune
