State Department issues worldwide travel warning for Americans abroad

The State Department on Saturday issued a travel advisory for Americans traveling abroad, citing “heightened tensions in the Middle East.”
The advisory, posted on the department’s website, comes following the deaths of two American soldiers Friday at a base in Jordan, which was pummeled by Iranian missiles and drones. Another soldier is reportedly missing.
The State Department advised Americans "worldwide, and especially in the Middle East," to exercise caution.
"U.S. diplomatic facilities, including outside the Middle East, have been targeted. Groups supportive of Iran may target other U.S. interests overseas or locations associated with [Americans]," the department posted on its website. It cited "the potential for unforeseen escalation."
It issued a similar warning in March, before a short-lived ceasefire, for similar reasons.
