SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say they believe a 77-year-old Nevada man accused in four cold-case deaths in Northern California may have also killed in other states.
Joseph Naso is being held on suspicion of murdering women from 1977 to 1994.
Nevada authorities say Naso was a professional photographer who traveled the country for work.
Investigators say they found evidence during a random probation search of Naso's Reno, Nev., home last year that linked him to the four killings.
Chris Perry, acting director of Nevada's Department of Public Safety, says authorities launched a task force after that search and have since been in contact with cold-case detectives around the country.
Marin County District Attorney Ed Berberian says he plans to seek the death penalty for Naso in the four California murders.
Naso declined a jailhouse interview Tuesday through guards.
