Phil Nelson scored on a sacrifice fly by Rich Kissane with one out in the top of the 12th and Comsewogue defeated Bayport-Blue Point, 8-7, in non-league baseball Saturday.

Nelson walked and advanced to second on a hit batsman and reached third on a passed ball. Angel Tejeda's two-run single in the top of the seventh tied the score at 7 for Comsewogue, which overcame a 7-1 deficit. Max Militano highlighted a four-run fifth inning for Comsewogue with a two-run single. Rich Mulvaney, Nelson and Militano combined for seven scoreless innings in relief for Comsewogue.

Connetquot 6, Floyd 5: Joe Montana hit a pinch-hit single in the bottom of the eighth, scoring Andrew Jaccino and Jessie Simicich to win it for Connetquot in non-league.

Island Trees 7, Lynbrook 6: Brandon Garcia drove in Bryan Verbitsky with a double in the bottom of the eighth to win it for Island Trees in non-league. Garcia went 2-for-4 with four RBIs, Verbitsky went 2-for-2 with three walks and Chris Nickel struck out five in 31/3 scoreless innings of relief.

East Meadow 9, Hicksville 1: Steve Rosner went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, Kevin Clarke went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Tyler Levine struck out three in five innings to lead East Meadow in non-league.

SOFTBALLWhitman 12, Central Islip 0: Senior righthander Christine Lucido tossed a five-inning no-hitter with 13 strikeouts and two walks to lead Whitman in League II. Lucido lost her bid for a perfect game with a walk in the top of the second. Ali Delprete went 1-for-2 with two runs and an RBI.

Babylon 15, Mount Sinai 5: Hannah McGarvey put Babylon ahead 7-0 with a two-run double in the top of the third in League VII. McGarvey went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs and Christine Desiderio went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored for Babylon.

Floral Park 2, Carey 0: Lindsay Trifon drove in Angelica Titor and Christine Hand with a two-run single in the bottom of the fifth to lead Floral Park in non-league. Samantha Giovanniello struck out 14 and walked one in a three-hitter.

Floyd 5, Patchogue-Medford 4: Tori Taylor hit a two-run double to cap a four-run fourth inning and give Floyd a 5-4 lead in League I. Samantha DiGiovanni allowed two hits over the final four innings for the win.

Oyster Bay 3, Bethpage 0: Kerri Apicella struck out 12 and allowed two hits to lead Oyster Bay in Conference ABC-II. Apicella had an RBI single and Danielle Aaron a two-run single for Oyster Bay.

Riverhead 3, West Islip 2: Colleen Dougherty went 2-for-4 and gave Riverhead the lead at 3-2 with an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth in League IV. Kelly Zilnicki went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Julia Morrow struck out eight in seven innings for Riverehead.

Hills West sets mark. Half Hollow Hills West's 4X200-meter relay team of Demarr Aultman, Abdias Myrtil, Jerome Cole and Dan McCord took first in a school-record time of 1:29.60 and the team of Aultman, Myrtil, David Friedman and Dan McCord took first in the 4X100 with a school-record time of 42.63 at the Kings' Relays at Icahn Stadium. Hills West won the meet with 27 points. East Meadow finished second with 25 points.Sampson excels. Ryan Sampson took first in the shot put with a mark 45 feet, six inches and the discus in 122-9 and was named the Outstanding Field Event Performer for Sachem North, which won the Middle Country Relays with 135 points. Middle Country took second with 115 points. The Flaming Arrows' 4x400 relay team consisting of Chris Weilbacher, Tim Randazzo, Joe Johnson and Davon Christopher took first in 3:34.9.
