The Glen Cove City Council on Tuesday night approved a $133,150 contract for construction of a new golf cart storage building at the municipal course.

It will replace a structure that was about 20 years old and had holes in the roof, part of which collapsed under the weight of snow last winter, Mayor Ralph Suozzi said.

The 40-by-70-foot structure will be built on the existing slab by the low bidder, Metro Group of Long Island, from East Northport. The work should be completed by December, Suozzi said.

The city has about 45 carts it rents to golfers.
