D.C. BUS TOURS The National Park Service is bringing interpretive bus tours back to the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Last week, Open Top Sightseeing added a National Mall route for its familiar double-decker buses. The route has more than two dozen stops, including the Capitol, Smithsonian museums and major memorials. Visitors will be able to hop on and off throughout the day. Tickets are $32 for adults and $20 for children. Children younger than 5 are free.

CIVIL WAR SITE The National Park Service has launched a website (nps.gov/civilwar) that provides an overview of the Civil War and a guide to more than 1,700 sites around the nation related to the war that divided the nation.

Among those 1,700 sites are more than 100 national parks with Civil War themes, from San Juan Island National Historical Park in Washington state to Fort Jefferson in the Florida Keys.
