Soon visitors to Port Jefferson will be able to access village info with their fingertips. The village’s Economic Development Council has partnered with the local Chamber of Commerce on a new mobile app devoted to all things Port Jeff.

“There is a directory of services, events,” said Mayor Margot Garant. “If you want to come to Port Jeff, the chamber members can push their coupons through the app.”

The free app is available for Apple and Android mobile devices now under “Port Jeff,” though Garant said it is still being tested.

Other features of the app will include a function called “find my car” that allows users to pinpoint the exact location of their parked vehicles, and a function to post photos onto the village’s Facebook page.

The full app will launch in the spring, Garant said.
