Nickerson Beach Park will host the first Players Ball, a new volleyball tournament put on by Nassau County and Volleyball Long Island.
The event, which the county and VBLI hope to hold every year, is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Aug. 11 at the park. The event is open to men’s, women’s, and coed teams, and will be played round-robin. Registration began July 13 and closes at noon Aug. 8. Organizers said registration is limited on a first-come, first-served basis.
“There will be music, food, fun and great prizes,” organizers said in a statement.
Registration is available at vbli.com. Nickerson Beach is at 880 Lido Blvd. in Lido Beach, on the Atlantic Ocean.
