North Hempstead Councilwoman Dina DeGiorgio has launched a new town website aimed at residents of the Port Washington peninsula.
Called “Portal 2 Port,” the site was designed to keep residents updated on current events and promote more contact with town government.
The site — northhempsteadny.gov/Portal2Port — has information about upcoming events in Port Washington, such as a meeting to discuss environmental cleanup at two businesses on Port Washington Boulevard, a meeting about streetscape improvements on lower Main Street, and a Community Emergency Response Team training program.
There is also a section called “Dina’s Thoughts” and a link to the town’s Facebook page.
DeGiorgio, who represents the area, said, “I developed Portal 2 Port so the residents of the Sixth District could have online access to a site dedicated solely to their community and the issues that are important to them.”
