A new winter farmers market will open Sunday at the Suffolk Y Jewish Community Center in Commack.

The market will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Sunday through March 31 in the front lobby and cafeteria at the center, 74 Hauppauge Rd., said Bernadette Martin, director of Friends & Farmers, which is organizing the event.

Fifteen local food producers will sell items such as hydroponic salad greens, hot house tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, beets, wine, baked goods, fresh-roasted fair trade coffee, Greek yogurt, cheese, eggs, honey and handmade soap.
