10 years of amNY: A decade of covers

Ten years in and amNewYork has created some classic covers: Anthony Weiner in a hot dog bun, an undercover police kitty, the “O’Raunchy Factor” and more.

For our anniversary, we wanted to show off some of our favorites from the last decade. These front pages highlight some of the biggest news events in the city — Superstorm Sandy, mayoral elections, gay marriage — and they are covers that have made amNewYork stand out among the crowded New York media landscape.

The issues we’ve chosen here represent amNewYork as the newspaper of New Yorkers, and as the best source of the city’s biggest, wildest, quirkiest and most relevant news stories.
