It was raining cash on the Long Island Expressway after a bag of money fell out of a moving armored vehicle.

WCBS-AM reports that it happened around 2:40 a.m. Tuesday near the Yellowstone Boulevard exit in Forest Hills.

The rear door of the truck flew open and the bag full of money fell out.

WCBS says the bag broke and $100 and $20 bills went flying. It says drivers stopped to chase the fluttering cash.

The bag contained over $170,000; $40 was recovered.
