Police say there’s been another break-in at the “Late Show” theater in Manhattan just days after another man was charged with smashing its glass doors.
The NYPD says a 42-year-old man broke the window panes of the front entrance of the Ed Sullivan Theater at 1 a.m. Thursday. Police say he got as far as the vestibule before being detained by a security guard.
Police say the suspect used a metal newspaper dispenser to smash the glass panes.
He was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital for treatment of minor lacerations. Police say charges are pending.
Early Sunday morning, another man, James Whittemore, broke into the closed theater where David Letterman tapes his television show.
His lawyer said Whittemore was drunk and didn’t recall the incident.
