One teenager has died and three others are recovering from gunshot wounds after a gunman jumped out from behind a parked car and ambushed them as they were leaving a party in New York City.

Police tell the Daily News that the four young men were walking back from a party in the Jamaica section of Queens when the gunman opened fire with a .40-caliber gun shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday.

One 18-year-old victim was hit in the chest, back and arm. He was rushed to Jamaica Hospital but could not be saved.

His identity was not released.

The other three victims were all in stable condition at the same hospital.

No one has been arrested. Police have not released information on a possible motive or publicly identified a suspect.
