50 Cent, Gilbert Gottfried take heat for tweeting Japan jokes

A couple of celebs found humor in the devastations ravaging Japan, though the wisecracks were lost on many who considered the jokes distasteful.

Notoriously offensive Twitterer, 50 Cent, let loose with a flurry of jokes Friday about the deadly earthquakes and tsunami that may have killed more than 10,000 people, saying he had to “evacuate all my hoe’s from LA, Hawaii and Japan.”

He added: “Its all good Till b---- see there christian louboutins floating down da street s--- gone get crazy.”

Fiddy, 35, wasn’t the only one yucking it up on twitter, as comedian Gilbert Gottfried tweeted his own Japan punchlines — and yesterday, they cost him his job with insurer Aflac, for which Gottfried supplies the voice for its duck mascot.

The tweets were “lacking in humor and certainly do not represent … Aflac,” the company said, adding that it will conduct a nationwide casting call to replace the comedian.

50 Cent eventually admitted that his Tweets were for “shock value” and offered a more sympathetic thought: “Let’s pray for anyone who has lost someone.”

Still, the blogosphere wasn't satisfied. Perez Hilton said of the tweets: "Disgusting!!! Will this guy ever learn?? … Guess what, Fiddy? It ISN'T cool either way and doing something for shock value is NOT funny."

Reps for 50 Cent and Gottfried didn’t return calls for comment yesterday.
