After songstress Adele announced on Oct. 28 that she had to cancel tour dates to undergo surgery, a troubling rumor claiming that the British singer has throat cancer swept the Internet. The hashtag "#prayforadele" even became a worldwide trending topic on Twitter.
Luckily, that bit of gossip is false. "We would like to reiterate that Adele is to undergo surgery for a hemorrhaged vocal cord," her Sony Music rep, Benny Tarantini, told Life & Style in an official statement.
"All reports regarding any other condition are 100% false."
