With 3 million Cablevision subscribers poised to the miss tonight’s start of the World Series, the company’s CEO told the FCC he’s ready to play ball with Fox owner News Corp.
“I respectfully urge you to bring the parties together … to resolve this matter,” said CEO James Dolan said yesterday.
Dolan made the request in a letter to FCC Chair Julius Genachowski. A rep for Fox called the letter a “stunt.”
If a resolution is reached, it would end the 12-day blackout of Fox channels, the longest such blackout ever in a major market.
Cablevision owns amNewYork.
